BY PLANE
The nearest airport is the Trieste Regional Airport (TRS) in Ronchi dei Legionari, 33km from Trieste.
You can take a train, the train station is reachable from inside the airport. You will need to buy a ticket from “Trieste Airport” to “Trieste Centrale”, online at https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html or in place at the ticket machines. It will cost about 5 euros for a 30 minutes trip.
You can also take bus number 51 or a taxi (+39 0481 778000).
You can arrive also at Venice Airport (2h away), Milan Airport (4h away), Ljubljana Airport (up to 3 hours by train) or another Italian airport, but they are further away from Trieste. Then you can take a train to “Trieste Centrale” o a bus. Keep in mind that the train is usually the cheapest and fast option.
BY TRAIN
The station to choose as destination is Trieste Centrale. Trieste is well connected by train with other Italian cities and with
abroad.

BY FERRY
From Rovinj (Croatia), Piran (Slovenia), Porec (Croatia), Lošinj (Croatia) check Liberty Lines Fast Ferries website https://www.libertylines.it/
The best way is to use Google Maps. You can easily visit the city by walking or bus, whose timetables are well integrated with Google Maps.
If you choose the bus, remember to buy the ticket.
There are a few ways to buy a ticket:
– at the newsstands;
– at the ticket machines near some bus stop;
– using the TPL FVG mobile app, is very handy but you have to register to use the app, more info here (Italian only, use a translator): https://tplfvg.it/it/il-viaggio/app-mobile/. The mobile app language can be set to English;
– using SMS, it works only with Vodafone or WindTre networks, you have to send a message to 4850850 with the text “TST” if you need a 1-hour ticket or “TSTG” for a daily ticket.
When you are on the bus remember to validate the ticket.
You must validate the ticket using the dedicated machines inside the bus or, if you are using the mobile app, you must validate the ticket by scanning the special QR code you’ll find inside the bus.
Ticket validity countdown starts only after validation.
You can choose between a 60-min ticket (1.35 €), a 75-min ticket (1.65 €) or a daily ticket (3.00 €).
On Sunday and national holidays, 60 and 75 minutes tickets last 4 hours.
Detailed info here, but you need to use a translator since it is in Italian only: https://tplfvg.it/it/le-tariffe/biglietti/
Every session will be held in English and that will be the official language of the event.
We have a partnership with some hotels for our attendees and their companions.
