Q. Tell us a bit about yourself. What are your hobbies and interests?
I’m interested in computers and technology since I was a kid. It was mainly gaming back in the days but it evolved into me becoming a software engineer. I still play video games quite often too. For non-computer interests, I enjoy running to the extent that it pushed me to finish my first ultramarathon a year ago. I also started playing drums 3 years ago and that is the most favorite activity for me right now. The complexity of the instrument, the focus and energy needed to play it make a challenge that drives me.
Q. Why did you select this topic for your session at Voxxed Days Cluj-Napoca 2017?
Since the very first time I saw HoloLens I thought this is going to change how we interact with a digital world for real. I quickly got lucky to get myself involved in developing something on an actual device. In my opinion, the potential is huge. Based on people’s reactions when I talk to them about or show them what the device is capable of, it’s obvious people are very interested in it. That’s why I decided to wrap my knowledge and deliver it to broader audiences through conferences.
Q. Who should attend your session?
Everyone who’s interested in how AR is evolving. Developers will understand what kind of device HoloLens is and how to deal with it. Business people could get some understanding of possible applications for it.
Q. What are the key things attendees will take away from your session?
The session is an overview of the HoloLens device and Mixed Reality technology backing it. Attendees will get to know how it places itself among other VR/AR solutions that are already there and what makes it worth our time and interest.
Q. Aside from speaking at Voxxed Days Cluj-Napoca 2017, what is the year review look like for you?
As of January 2017, I started a new job that brought me new challenges. One of which is HoloLens. I explore possibilities, talk with businesses, visit expos and conferences. I’m giving talks and conduct workshops. It’s been a really busy year. I applied to many conferences and that resulted in lots of traveling too – 6 countries in 2 months.
Q. What are your plans for the next year?
For now, it seems they are very similar to what I’m doing right now. I have some conferences and business opportunities regarding HoloLens lined up already. That will definitely be my main focus area for some time at least.
