Workshop: Angular 2 with TypeScript

Q. Tell us a bit about yourself. What are your hobbies and interests?

I’ve been a front-end developer for the past 6 years, I’m very passionate about everything related to the web-applications and javascript ecosystem but also keep a keen interest in web design and user experience. In my free time, i try to get involved in as many community events as possible. I organize the Bucharest Angular Meetup and other community-driven events (hackathons, workshops, etc.).

Q. Why did you select this topic for your session at Voxxed Days Cluj-Napoca 2017?

I am a big fan of the Angular project from Google and I think the team has done a very good job lately in delivering one of the best javascript frameworks around and I think that whatever type of web application you’re developing this framework can be of great help. I’m excited to take the attendants on an Angular test drive, have a look at the core ideas and principles and dive deep with practical exercises.

Q. Who should attend your session?

This session is ideal for people who’ve worked or are currently working on web applications and have at least basic experience with javascript and are curious what the next generation Angular framework is all about and how can they use it in their next projects. The main aim of the workshop is to introduce people to the framework so a good deal of the presentation will be dedicated to explaining the core principles and tools at our disposal. Previous experience with a javascript framework (Angular or any other) is not required but it would help assess the framework’s strengths or weaknesses compared to other solutions.

Q. What are the key things attendees will take away from your session?

I hope attendees will be convinced that using Angular in their next project will make their life easier. With a new component-based architecture, a performant change detection strategy that makes it blazing fast, use of modern libraries (RxJS) and tools (TypeScript) and all the modules needed for modern web application development (like forms and http communication) Angular is definitely worthy of attention whether they’re developing apps for the browser, mobile or desktop.

Q. Aside from speaking at Voxxed Days Cluj-Napoca 2017, what is the year review look like for you?

This was a good year, had a lot of contributions to community events and attended a good number of conferences with great content. Voxxed Days Bucharest included 🙂

Q. What are your plans for the next year?

Well, first of all improving the Angular workshop for Voxxed Days and contributing to as many community events as time allows and keep on growing as a professional.
